Agra to Delhi by Taxi: Route, Timing and Fare Breakdown — TaxiInAgra travel guide

The Agra to Delhi run is the single most booked outstation route in our fleet. It is a straightforward drive, but the difference between a smooth trip and a stressful one is planning — especially if a flight is waiting at the other end.

Route options

  • Yamuna Expressway (recommended) — 233 km, 3 to 3.5 hours to South Delhi, 4 to 4.5 hours to IGT Airport Terminal 3. Six lanes, well lit, one main toll plaza and clean food courts at Jewar and Mathura.
  • NH-19 (old Agra–Delhi highway) — 210 km but 5 to 6 hours because of town traffic at Mathura, Kosi and Palwal. Only worth it if you want to stop at Vrindavan temples.

Fare breakdown

A transparent Agra to Delhi taxi fare is built from four parts: base kilometre rate for the vehicle, toll, state permit where applicable, and driver allowance on overnight trips. For a one-way drop there is no return-empty charge on our popular routes, which is why one-way is far cheaper than a round trip with waiting time. Round-trip pricing makes sense only if you need the car all day in Delhi.

Sedans suit two to three passengers with two suitcases. An SUV is the right call for four to six passengers, tall travellers or an airport run with three or more bags.

Timing your airport drop

For an international flight, leave Agra six hours before departure; for a domestic flight, four to five hours. That builds in the Delhi ring-road slowdown between 8 am and 11 am and again from 5 pm to 9 pm. Fog season (mid-December to late January) needs an extra hour.

Worthwhile stops

  • Mathura and Vrindavan — 60 km from Agra, adds about 2 hours.
  • Jewar food court — the cleanest washrooms on the expressway.
  • Sikandra (Akbar''s Tomb) — 10 minutes off the route on the way out of Agra.

What to check before you book

  • Confirm whether toll and parking are included in the quoted fare.
  • Ask for the driver''s name and vehicle number the night before.
  • Share your flight number so the drop time is planned backwards from it.
  • Insist on a GPS-tracked, insured car with a commercial permit.

Booking an Agra to Delhi cab with TaxiInAgra gives you a fixed all-inclusive quote, a clean vehicle, and a driver who does this route several times a week.
