History of Ram Bagh
Ram Bagh, originally Aram Bagh or 'Garden of Rest', was laid out by Babur in 1528 and is the oldest surviving Mughal garden in India.
Babur's body rested here before being taken to Kabul, and the terraced water channels set the template for later Mughal charbagh design.
Quiet and shaded, it offers a glimpse of Mughal landscaping before the age of marble monuments.
